Mercy & Justice

"Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?” He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.”"

~ Luke 10:36–37

Hopewell is a city with many needs. Our poverty level is significantly above the Virginia average and single-parent homes make up more than half of all family households.

We want this to change and we want to be a part of that change. Within the church, God calls deacons to help meet the physical needs of church members and those in our local community. Also, they are called to seek justice for those who are discriminated against. This is part of the work of the church and we are committed to being faithful in this area of ministry.

If you are in need of help, please call the church office. We will assign one of our Deacons or members of the Mercy Team to see how we can best help.
